We were engaged to deploy a safety-critical collision awareness system (CAS) on a mine site that consisted of 300 heavy and light machines. Delivered within the tight timeframe, the solution we implemented has significantly reduced the risk of collisions and incidents.
The challenge
The goal of the train load out (TLO) spillage detection project was to implement a machine vision model capable of detecting ore surges during loading, and triggering a pause in the event of a spillage.
The Mount team were initially tasked with supporting the delivery of the prototype and were re-engaged to assist with the rollout of that prototype to all existing TLOs.
Our approach
We coordinated the assessment of the technology infrastructure required for the application, and completed project highlight reports, which we submitted to the governance and leadership teams. We delivered project documentation and facilitated project meetings and workshops throughout the project.
The results
We successfully supported the delivery of a prototype computer vision model capable of detecting surges, designed by the engineering vendor. The project is currently in the process of scaling the solution out across all TLOs.
